And why should ye not fight in the cause of Allah and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated (and oppressed)?- Men, women, and children, whose cry is: "Our Lord! Rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee Thee one who will protect; and raise for us from thee Thee one who will help!"

It is no fault in the blind nor in one born lame, nor in one afflicted with illness, nor in yourselves, that ye should eat in your own houses, or those of your fathers, or your mothers, or your brothers, or your sisters, or your father's brothers or your father's sisters, or your mohter's mother's brothers, or your mother's sisters, or in houses of which the keys are in your possession, or in the house of a sincere friend of yours: there is no blame on you, whether ye eat in company or separately. But if ye enter houses, salute each other - a greeting of blessing and purity as from Allah. Thus does Allah make clear the signs to you: that ye may understand.

When it sees them from a place fAr far off, they will hear its fury and its ranging sigh.

And when they are cast, bound together into a constricted place therein, they will pLead plead for destruction there and then!

That Day, the dominion as of right and truth, shall be (wholly) for (Allah) Most Merciful: it will be a Day of dire difficulty for the Misbelievers. misbelievers.

To them will be passed round, dishes and goblets of gold: there will be there all that the souls could desire, all that their ayes eyes could delight in: and ye shall abide therein (for eye).

Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, "We believe": But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: "Perish in you your rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart."

"And remember how He made you inheritors after the 'Ad people and gave you habitations in the land: ye build for yourselves palaces and castles in (open) plains, and care carve out homes in the mountains; so bring to remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah, and refrain from evil and mischief on the earth."

And remember We took your covenant and We raised above you (The towering height) of Mount (Sinai) : (Sinai): (Saying): "Hold firmly to what We have given you and bring (ever) to remembrance what is therein: Perchance ye may fear Allah."

They say: "Allah hath begotten a son" :Glory son": Glory be to Him.-Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him.

Then would those who are followed clear themselves of those who follow (them) : (them): They would see the penalty, and all relations between them would be cut off.

O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not "Trinity" : "Trinity": desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.

Out of what Allah hath produced in abundance in tilth and in cattle, they assigned Him a share: they say, according to their fancies: "This is for Allah, and this" - for our "partners"! but the share of their" partners "reacheth not Allah, whilst the share of Allah reacheth their "partners" ! "partners"! evil (and unjust) is their assignment!

He will say: "Enter ye in the company of the peoples who passed away before you - men and jinns, - into the Fire." Every time a new people enters, it curses its sister-people (that went before), until they follow each other, all into the Fire. Saith the last about the first: "Our Lord! it is these that misled us: so give them a double penalty in the Fire." He will say: "Doubled for all" : all": but this ye do not understand.

Then the first will say to the last: "See then! No advantage have ye over us; so taste ye of the penalty for all that ye did !" did!"

"For ye practise your lusts on men in preference to women : women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds."

Then We changed their suffering into prosperity, until they grew and multiplied, and began to say: "Our fathers (too) were touched by suffering and affluence" ... affluence"... Behold! We called them to account of a sudden, while they realised not (their peril).

We put it into Moses's mind by inspiration: "Throw (now) thy rod":and rod": and behold! it swallows up straight away all the falsehoods which they fake!

But the chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: "We see (in) thee nothing but a man like ourselves: Nor do we see that any follow thee but the meanest among us, in judgment immature: Nor do we see in you (all) any merit above us: in fact we thing think ye are liars!"

A.L.R. A. L. R. These are the symbols (or Verses) of the perspicuous Book.

Then there came a caravan of travellers: they sent their water-carrier (for water), and he let down his bucket (into the well)...He well)... He said: "Ah there! Good news! Here is a (fine) young man!" So they concealed him as a treasure! But Allah knoweth well all that they do!

She said: "There before you is the man about whom ye did blame me! I did seek to seduce him from his (true) self but he did firmly save himself guiltless!....and guiltless!.... and now, if he doth not my bidding, he shall certainly be cast into prison, and (what is more) be of the company of the vilest!"

A.L.M.R. A. L. M. R. These are the signs (or verses) of the Book: that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth; but most men believe not.

Nay, thunder repeateth His praises, and so do the angels, with awe: He flingeth the loud-voiced thunder-bolts, and therewith He striketh whomsoever He will..yet will.. yet these (are the men) who (dare to) dispute about Allah, with the strength of His power (supreme)!

If it were Our Will, We could take away that which We have sent thee by inspiration:then inspiration: then wouldst thou find none to plead thy affair in that matter as against Us,-

(Abundant) was the produce this man had : had: he said to his companion, in the course of a mutual argument: "more wealth have I than you, and more honour and power in (my following of) men."

He said: "So (it will be): Thy Lord saith, 'that is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us':It Us': It is a matter (so) decreed."

"Now do thou throw thy rod!" But when he saw it moving (of its own accord)as accord) as if it had been a snake, he turned back in retreat, and retraced not his steps: "O Moses!" (it was said), "Fear not: truly, in My presence, those called as messengers have no fear,-

Said one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to thee within the twinkling of an eye!" Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him, he said: "This is by the Grace of my Lord!- to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful! and if any is grateful, truly his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of all Needs, Supreme in Honour !" Honour!"

It will be said (to them): "Call upon your 'partners' (for help)" :they help)": they will call upon them, but they will not listen to them; and they will see the Penalty (before them); (how they will wish) 'if only they had been open to guidance!'

He said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : there: we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!"

"What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"...but us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment!

(David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and they?"... and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance).

O ye who believe! Avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: And spy not on each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, ye would abhor it...But it... But fear Allah: For Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

The desert Arabs say, "We believe." Say, "Ye have no faith; but ye (only)say, (only) say, 'We have submitted our wills to Allah,' For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."

Peace!...This Peace!... This until the rise of morn!

Say : Say: O ye that reject Faith!
